Absolutely!!
So I tell my boy the other day I hate absolutes. And of course he's like what are you talking about. People do stuff and it doesn't bother me, it irks the hell out of me!! He is an absoluter. Haha! My word for today.
Anyway. One thing does not apply to all things. It irks me when people do that in common conversation. For example, lets say a friend and I have plans to go to the movies. We are talking earlier in the day and I say "dang I have a headache." My friend's response, "oh you do, I guess we won't go to the movies then, forget it.." Um, did I say, I have a headache I dont want to got to the movies? Its like logic, If I have a headache then I will not go to the movies. True or False? It can only be true if there is a truth statement to back it up. Truth: I dont go to the movies when I have a headache. Then the friends response to my statement follows logically. If not then don't assume thats what I mean! dag!!! My friend does stuff like that quite often, and I am mean to him quite often because of it.
Why do we and yes we because I do it too (sometimes) assume the worse? I sort of think its a defense mechanism to protect ourselves from disappointment or hurt, depending on the situation. I do it to prevent myself from getting emotionally involved or to not get hurt by something that has some sort of effect on me. But I do it with big stuff. Not no damn movies. If you don't want to go fine, I can stay home or go with someone else. But I guess importance is an indivdual thing. I know I have a hard time understanding what may be important to others sometimes because I can be casual with a lot of things. I battle it every day with my nuerotic boss. I'm a work in progress, I admit.

Yep. That's why I do it. I'd rather make up the reason and prep myself for the downfall; rather than the other person do it to me.
I know it! It like self inflcited pains always hurts less because you can prep yourself. I can wear my heart on my sleeve too so sometimes it really doesn't hurt less. I'm good at making it appear that way.
