So I have another wedding to go to this weekend. I went from being the person who has never been to a real wedding, (since City Hall does not count), to being in one and hitting up my fourth one this year.
And of course I need to find a dress. Well I don't need to. But, pictures tell a story of dresses already worn. And of course I have a dress actually two that I coudl wear, but one does not fit grrrrr, and the other would clash with the wedding colors.
Now I was watching "What Not to Wear" the other day, one of my favorite shows. And Stacey made the comment that "things shoudn't match, they should go." I am learning this slowly but surely because I am a big time matcher. So much so I have every color in the rainbow of underwear so it can match with my clothes. I have moved away from that because again things refuse to fit as I have gotten older.
So I say all that to say the wedding colors are blue and the dress I have is green. But I have seen blue and green together. But do they go together in the "what to wear" sense of go together?
And why am I worring about clashing with the wedding party? See I am a super matcher. Like when I find 'the one" when we go to special events like a wedding, our clotherneed to go together, match, whatever you call it. But under no circumstances will we EVER have the same thing on. That's way too matchy.
I'll re-visit the green dress. Then I can used my virtual cash from The Limited on some other goodies!
I'm mad my batteries died before I even got a picture with the bride. Oh well.
Ok how many times have I done something or haven't done something based on principle? Probably often but you know sometimes its really not that serious.
I am going to another wedding this weekend. Yes, another one. But I was asked this past Sunday as an alternate for someone who cancelled. I didn't expect to be invited at all since she is really a friend of a friend, albeit we are mad cool when we are all hanging out.
So I tell a friend about and he's like "oh you just found out about it?" Um yea dude did you hear me mention it before? (this is someone I talk to every day and pretty much knows what I do or don't do) So he proceeds to tell me if it was him he would not go. Well dude good thing your not me, one is quite enough in this world. He likes, " if you can't think enough of me to have invited me from the start, I dont need to be there."
Um, ok. Its really not that serious. I'm like ok, its fine that you feel that way, but why do you have a semi-attiutude with me?
Um, yea hes just mad I didn't ask him to go with me. Because if I invited him, he would have went. But sorry bro your left out of this party.
The principal of the matter is to be honest about how you really feel and not try to make me feel like my choice is a bad one.
So I went to another wedding this weekend. I have a few pictures that I may post. But the ceremony was interesting. The bride mothers is from Thailand so they had a ceremonial dance before the nuptials. That was pretty cool. I always love to experience different cultures. But after the vows the husband and wife walked out to this song. It was a different song to walk out to especially and I'm sorry to say (black folks), but it was way cool. It inspired me to believe in love.
More wedding pictures!! I love pictures!!!! Thanks Ray!
First I want to thank Goldie for all her help with this picture stuff!! You rock!
So here are some of the pictures and I say some as I took over 100 of them. It was a beautiful weekend. I got to see old friends, make some new ones, and share in my friends special day that went perfectly! We cried, we laughed, we reminisced, and we became faithful that love is a wonderful thing. I hope you enjoy the pictures.
My dearestand closest friend is getting married this weekend and I am a bridesmaid. It stirs a lot of emotion for a lot of reasons. Reasons I never even told her because its really hard for me to express myself even to her.
One of the main reasons is because thats my road dog. You know single ladies hitting the road, doing things we want to do, when we want to do them. *sigh* But things change. I am thrilled for her, and I know this is what she wants. As we all want to find someone who has our backs and will commit to that for a lifetime.
Its going to be an exciting weekend!!! Funny enough but I contributed to her new found love. I invited her to a super bowl party of a friend and it was there she met one of the guys in the circle. So her wedding is going to be filled with so many of my different friends!!!! Its going to be like a reunion! Church friends, folks I know through her, folks I know through him!!! My partner, I have know him for hmm lets see.......about 18 years now! We shared some funny times, so I have to tell him to behave because we will be walking just laughing!!! Its going to be way cool!!!
With my new camera in hand Ill be snapping plenty pictures. I'm going to have to set up some cool ways to view them online. Goldie if you read this help a sister out, since you got it on lock!!!!
Anyway Im babbleing. (is that the word?) I'm so good for just coming up with words!
So plain and simple, I dont do makeup. Or I should say I dont like the whole foundation stuff, eyebrow pencil things that dont look natural. Ill do eyeliner, lip gloss and mascara for my "loooooooooooong lashes" as the girl at the counter mentioned. But thats for going out. I am of the opinion, what you see is what you get and it can only get better! I want makeup to enhance who I am not define me. But I'm in a wedding and yes I have less then perfect skin which makes me sad, but hey no one is perfect. So I needed to go and do the whole concealer and foundation bit. I tell the girl I dont want to look like a clown. Dont cake it on, natural please. So she gets to work and after some time, I get to look in the mirror. WOW pretty natural. I'm impressed.
My first trip to MAC and it was pretty cool. Ill get some make up for the wedding. For a special occasion here and there. But on a regular its just me!!! You know it has to do with me being a hopeless romantic. I like to know a guy can kiss me anywhere on my face he wants. To grab me up when he wants. Us to get down with it without worring about messing up my makeup. Oh well.
